Most people don't have a clue as to what it takes to go thru one of these cars. I have redone mine Three times in the last thirty years, The first time I stripped it with aircraft stripper and spent $1200 on material. that was in 1984 and we used 5 gallons of acrylic lacquer primer and spent 3 months blocking it out. We sanded 4 gallons of it off.
The second time we redid it (because the lacquer micro checked) I had the car sand blasted down to bare metal. We spent $1800 on material, 1 gallon of Porsche Guards red base coat was $800, Almost half of the cost of the material.
The third time I actually had wrecked the car in 2007, A 91 year old man Turned in ft. of me and pretty much wrecked every thing from the bumper to the windshield,
It took me two years to find all the bits and pieces to put her back together again,$ 4000 dollars for parts , because you might as well do this ,that and the other thing as long as your redoing the rest.
Another $4000 in body work and state of the art paint work, new interior , new sep drive , roller rockers, new alt, ps pump, ac compressor, new brakes, digital gauges, act... Four months later.....YEA....
" DON"T LEAN ON MY FRIGGEN CAR YOU ****-WIT."
Oops sorry I lost it again. But that's just me.
