figured that...
I bought some fenders from OPG back in 07, that were messed up. They told me I would have to crate them or pallet them to return ship.

The cost to do that and ship to OPG in Cali was more than the metal cost in the first place.
Most trucking Co. put a huge value on a pallet these days.

may want to consider Greyhound too.... but make sure you get it covered for loss or damage if you do!

I had a 68' Buick LeSabre rear shipped from Arizona to NYC by Consolidated Freight. Cost about $200 and they strapped it to a pallet and I had to pick it up at the depot in Brooklyn.

Think it's too heavy to ship via Greyhound. I have talked to a few guys who shipped bigger sheet metal body panels. Was looking at having floor pans shipped from Fl to Mi. Thought it was around 60 bucks if I remember correctly.

Greyhound has a shipping site you can run the numbers, but I think a r/e would be too heavy.

Summitracing charges about 150 or so and their shipping is cheap! I would guess privately your looking close to $200 range.

Fedex will most likely not take it. I tried to ship a transmission and it just made the size requirement. It cost me about $100 bucks to ship. Just to give an idea.
