Im looking at replacing my shocks sence there the factory one still lol and i was looking at monroe and kyb, i know i.would like blistein but they are too expensive,so what ones are you giys rolling with. Or is.there another brand this is better bang for the buck.thanks guys.

I got kyb and i love them they were reasonably priced. but if its a daily street car any thing is better than old worn out shocks.

i have used both however if you can go with the KYB
i have a set on my 83 cutlass wagon and love them 8)

Monroe are great replacement shocks. kyb in my opinion or more of an aftermarket performance shock. it all depends on what you need these shocks to do

My KYB are a bit harsh. Monroes are cheap & wear out too fast. Neither provide a good smooth ride or quality feel when you hit a choppy curve. Bilsteins were decent priced at Autozone and are head and sholders above Monroe or other generic short lived shocks. Eibach ISAs were also quality forgot who bought them out. IMO this is not the place to cheap out.

We carry both KYB and Bilstein. KYB is far more superior to the Monroe's but if it were me I would save up and get the bilsteins you will not regret it . PM if you are interested I will get you good pricing on either and free shipping.

Thanks

Last year I bought a set of Monroe Sensa-trac shocks, still in the car and in good order after a season. They are decent for a daily driver that you just want to roll comfortably around town in. If I had to buy another set of shocks I'd buy something adjustable, though.

I've got Monroe Sensa-Tracks in the Cutlass right now. I like them, they were a massive improvement, I still had factory shocks too. I like how they are compliant but firm up on repeated motion. I have them on another car too, I haven't experienced them wearing out, but I don't put a lot of miles on these cars. How fast is too fast Vern? I also have the Bilsteins on another car, I would agree they are fantastic, but you pay for it. Hard to go wrong with $100 for four Monroes, you can always replace them later as others have said.

I had the KYB's gas adjust and destroyed them in just over a year. Next I installed the Afco and like them alot with the linear 50/50 compression and rebound. They lasted me 3 summers. I now have the AK series of Bilsteins and they are the best I have found. The are very similar to the Bilsteins except the Bilsteins comes in two different lengths (which is good so my rear springs don't fall out when I jack up the car) and built with stronger components than the Afco shocks. I do not recommend any self adjusting shock including the Bilstein HD if you are interested in the handling of the car.

my last Grand Prix(86 LE) had monroe formula gp shocks. They were great but they are no longer made. I was considering edelbrocks for my new to me 2+2 but they seem hard to find. I like the edelbrocks, I have had them on some of my previous cars and really liked them.
