From another thread I posted up in about exaust setups...

I have an "X" with cutouts. I was running headers out to some Thrush weldeds before the x. Sounded mean and clean. But after adding the X, I wont go back to straight pipe out to the mufflers. The X smoothed out the exhaust tone nicely..

Wow, that is a perfect looking exhaust system you have there.

This is what 6" tips look like:

You ever had a problem with the cops for having exhaust tips that big? I know in Alberta the biggest you are allowed to go with a gas is a 3'' tip/exhaust setup.

I don't believe there is any law about tip size here in Ontario. I could be wrong, but I don't see it as being a problem. Main concern is the noise level that comes out of them.

Aren't you kind of negating the benefits of an X-pipe by having the exhaust cut-outs in front of it?

You'd probably have better results doing the cutouts after the X-pipe.

I was thinking the same thing. Besides, the X-pipe should be very close in performance to the cuttouts anyway.

Here is my exhaust. 2 1/2" all the way back from the stock exhaust manifolds.

They also have a factory looking exit behind the rear wheel.
