So how hard is it to add A/C back in the car?

If it had lower door panels i could also use them for my wagon. Assuming its a 4 door. I haven't been in Haltom City in a long time lol.

It was a 4 door with a tan-ish interior (I think it was tan). The interior seemed pretty complete.

I use the junkyard as an excuse to get Fuel City Taco's, which is at Haltom and Airport Freeway.

My wife even encourages me go to the junkyard, now, as long as I pick up tacos.

It sounds like that Buick Century is worth checking out.

Regarding the two different types of compressors. The larger A3 unit is generally more bulletproof than the R4 radial units, but like I mentioned, the R4 is not as much a power hog as the A3.

You're fortunate that the guy didn't remove the HVAC box from the car. I think you'll be in good shape. Whatever is missing can easily be replaced.

If you had a serpentine setup it would be a whole lot easier to find parts for your ac since you can use parts from Camaro,s10,Chevy trucks plus anything with a sbc serpentine .

Greetings Zdeck & all; I also noted the bracket on the driver-side exhaust header. So does your lower (crank) pulley have the third inner V grove? On my OE set up the inner third V groove belt went from the crank to the AC compressor skipping the water pump then down to the PS & back to the crank. If you do have that groove & I suspect you do you're good to go. But since you have to buy a compressor, bite my tung, consider a junk yard up date to serpentine system. And maybe switch over to 134 A? I know that it gets pretty warm (OK hot) where you live. But I thought I should mention that I have those under-drive "V" belt pulleys made from billet steel that I just took off. If you live in a non bumper to bumper traffic area they may suite you well. The run out is like a .001" of an inch maybe less & the groove is deeper. ASP makes them to your request & they are just up the road from you. Mine are 25% under for the crank & 8% under for the water pump. Anyway if your interested just give a holler, Ole' Bob.
Ps: I also have an old axial (long) unit that I believe fits your bracket.

Suggestion replace with vintage air not sure of cost effectiveness versus buying everything to go back with just a thought. Maybe the other folks on here could add their 2 cents worth on my idea

I still think going with an OE type setup will be more cost effective than an aftermarket setup such as Vintage Air, etc.

In my opinion, with what he has (assuming the parts he has are working), then it would be much more cost effective to just get the missing parts. I'd only suggest going completely aftermarket if everything from the OE system is already gone or your car is already stripped. The interior is out of my car and I'm taking out the dash pad, so now is the time to get a new aftermarket system, but with a trans, rear end, and fitech up first....we'll see how it goes.
