Nice! Im actually planning to finally build my sub box this winter and I wanted to put it in the same spot you have yours so it dont take up the hole trunk. Is there anyway you can tell me the dimensions? That would help
Ok thanks. I cant tell what subs you got but they look like 12s. Im going with 2 shallow mount P3s and im gonna mount both my amps on the front of the box.
*edit* - just seen there Xplods 😳
Kudos on your hard work. I am going to share some thoughts you many not like but that I hope you and or other readers can benefit from. The best way to help a gravity fed electric fuel pump work & live is to sump the tank and have the pump below and behind the tank. They are not meant to suck fuel and often burn up quickly if they starve. This is fine on an old school drag car conversion that doesn't see the streets so its not likely to get rear ended or go through a ditch.
Years ago the GS Nationals were held at Columbus OH for a year or so. Anyway I saw first hand a beautiful 70ish GS with a fuel system setup like yours get rear ended waiting to get off I70 and into National Trail Raceway. Nobody got seriously hurt but despite fire extinguishers being close at hand the back half of the GS was burnt toast. It did not explode it just ruptured and I don't know if it was sparked from the electrical pump or metal scraping but it caught fire quickly and was off.
In the 60s & 70s cars there was just no other practical way to do it. But some Gbodys came with in-tank electric pumps & baffled tanks like a new Vette would because they were fuel injected. The benefit today is that if you are hot rodding a street gbody you can do an in-tank setup cheaper and easier than you can a sump or cell setup. All the parts are on the shelf & plug n play. Its also safer quieter stealth and generally more reliable. If you are doing a carberator you simply need a return style fuel pressure regulator and an inexpensive return line. I used the Mallory 4309 on my carberated 442. I am not saying you should rip it out sell it and replace it or make it drag only I am just sharing the info.
For the benefit of the readers you can see brand new baffled tanks & in-tank hanger/sending units at Ebay motors. Look up GN gas tanks. http://www.racetronix.com has plug n play pumps look under Buick GN. Jegs etc has fuel pressure regulator & roll of fuel line. I used an early 90s 350 tbi Camaro fuel filter from the local autoparts again cheap and on the shelf.
I understand what your saying, I recently bought this car as is it sits didn't do a thing to it yet, but maybe I need to address the fuel tank situation? Thank you for the input.
