so.... I was basically was screwed this morning! got out to go to work and noticed my drivers side window was "down" on my dd o2 GMC 2500hd sierra, window was laying on my driveway! I thought to myself was " I didn't leave my window down!!... then it hit me some ****tard stole my radio!! :evil: I locked it seeing as we have been getting allot of rain lately, I took a peek and lo and behold my pioneer avic navigation radio, dvd, deck was gone!! **** it, I was more pissed about the window then the radio!! but I have defended my ghetto hood just to get ****ed by it!! some ****tard busted my window then cut it out with a utility knife then stole my sh*t! I just don't understand how somebody can take somebody's hard earned money and claim it for their own!! whoever ****ed me left their knife and didn't even bother to 'borrow" my girls radio!! WHICH is decent unit! leads me to believe they "cased" my truck!! sorry for the rant!!!!

That's what people in a ghetto hood do. They steal sh*t. It sucks but that's the way it is. Feel lucky they didn't take more than just the radio. Hopefully you find the punk-*ss pos who did it, get your stuff back, and nail the no-good thief to the wall.

that's a shitty feeling I know. Early 90's. Came home from work on a Saturday in December ( freezing rain ) and parked right in front of the house ( inner city GTA ) I went in at 6pm to have a shower after work, came out at 6:30 and my 1/4 window was shattered. They put a crowbar thru the dash just above the HVAC controls and popped the radio and all of the centre of my dash out. Just for an insult they used snips to cut the wires ( even some of the HVAC ones ). Had to tape a garbage bag over the 1/4 window for almost a week ( I macgiver'd a toggle switch so I had heat at least ) until I could find another dash and harness. Don't mess with a mans woman or his car

let me join in the rant as a fellow 'ghetto hood' resident where little kids came and leaned against the 600 benze my father and I inherited from our late grandfather today and rubbed the buttons to their rear jean pockets against the door leaving white scratches as they stood around watching their friends come to play basketball on the most ghetto hood fab excuse for a 'hoop' that leans to 1 side you have ever seen and doesn't actually belong to them in the first place but my neighbor's kids... what a disaster but you know how it is I just moved the car and didn't say anything for fear if I try to bring it up in a civil matter but things get out of hand all the sudden I would be a 'racist' for pointing out the lack of parental supervision and respect for other people's property since I don't happen to be black myself. I guess that's why all the new cars are stupid disposable pieces of sh*t that don't even allow the younger generation to be nearly as vain about their cars so they have a complete lack of the entire concept of respecting other people's cars

I DID think about reporting it to my insurance company but the deductible cost me about the same as my window!! now the stereo was "worth" something but why get another for some scumbag to rebreak my window??? I do plan on installing a motion alarm, along with some motion sensor lights and some surveillance cams! hate to do this but if I can "make" it here a few more years.... My "hood" has gotten allot better in the last few years but these "kids" with no parental support are ruining it! If it was one of my kids I would've set them straight and made them return it along with free labor to get it installed! Thanks guys for the support! I was so pissed off earlier! Whoever took my sh*t better not pick on my GP or my Cutty!! :evil:

Dude, I live in what I think is a great neighborhood and have a good viper alarm on my 04 suburban and someone still wanted my gps/navi unit. They cut my hood release, popped the hood, cut battery cables to disable the alarm, popped out the rear passenger door glass, then stole the head unit. All done during the day why I was at work. If someone wants your stuff they are gonna get it.

First off, I'm sorry to hear that. Nobody wants to have something taken from them. I don't even like when people steal my food out of the fridge at work.

I'm relatively young...black...and I'm from Detroit....

with that being said, I've had cars broken into and headunits stolen. Everyone in my family has had a car stolen, more specifically Regals, 90's Mustangs, Cutlass, 2-door box Caprice, etc... all in the "hood." I came outside my apartment in midtown Detroit about 5 years ago to find my glass smashed and my flip out head unit gone.

Let's move on...black people in the "hood" are not the only ones in this country who steal. They MAY be more prone to break into cars, as with some other minorities, but a thief is a thief, rather it's your car wheels, your pension, or your tax dollars being spent on escorts in Vegas illegally. Ask the people who lost millions to hedge fund and investment scams if they fear some young punk in the hood stealing their car stereo or some well dressed caucasian stealing their retirement funds.

On my MCSS, I have glass break, proximity (motion), and tilt sensors. It's parked in a family member's backyard about half a mile from me. There are cameras on their garage, along with motion lights. It's safe to say I feel very comfortable about where it's parked 95% of the time. I have a fairly standard head unit w/ bluetooth, that is paired to my tablet that I use as my media source. I remove the tablet when I park the car, as well as the face of the head unit. If possible, always remove your equipment. I frequently visit family members in Detroit and I rarely drive the Monte when I go, but if I do, I'm never too far away, although it only takes a few seconds to smash and grab. I know the risks I take every time I take my car into Detroit and it sucks.
