Here is a pic you can actually see

Sent the seller a bunch of questions about its actual condition (rust, A/C work?, engine, etc.). I'll post here if he actually answers them reasonably.

I keep looking at those doors thinking... Something is off...

Now, mine is an '86 LE so... I dunno. But I know mine is a factory job.

I asked the seller a bunch of questions. Here is the text of my email.

"Hi there!
My name is Joe and I am interested in your car, but before I make the drive from Palm Bay/Melbourne, I have a few questions.

What engine? V6? Or Chevy 305 V8 or Olds 307 V8?
You said it has A/C. Dies it work? Blow cold? Been converted from R12?
What size are those rims? 14"?
Do you have any pics of under the hood? Can you get a few?
Are there any rust issues at the bottom inside of the doors? How about the rear frame rails behind the back tires?
Any other rust issues?
Are there any cracks in the vinyl dash?

Car looks really nice in the pics.

I am really looking for a clean example of these cars to put together a nice cruiser and I want to start with something decent that doesn't require much work to get it where I want it.

Thanks!"

He then responded and barely answered the A/C questions and stated the engine. The rust question was a vague answer. The rest he ignored. Here is his response:

Has a 4.3 fuel injection v6 . I can’t really find any rust . Car is a Fl car . I’m the second owner . I bought IT from the orig owner in Tampa about a year and half ago . Call or text any time."

Here is a crappy pic of the engine he took. Chevy 4.3 TBI V6.

If it is as nice as he thinks it is, it would be a great candidate for an LSx.

Well that doesn’t make sense at all. The 4.3 wasn’t available in the Monte/Grand Prix until 85’. Suppose the seats could be swapped in, makes more sense than the 4.3 but then the model year is wrong.

Other than the diesel, there was no V8 available at all for the GP in '82? Then this might be a re-VIN. I need to see the VIN. I'll see if I can get it.

I emailed him

He said he has only owned the car for a year and has no idea about the engine

Said he is selling it because he is having a baby

Hmmm, since he has had a Fla antique plate on it (I see it peeking around his blackout attempt) it seems to be title-able and register-able.

Bah, I will wait for a MC or Cutlass.
