Less stress would do it all but that won't happen right away eather way .
With all the late night running on horrible backroads I've been doing over the last month the truck has developed some new problems. Nothing big but I keep forgetting to mention them. My right blinker has gone back to it's old ways. It only works when the headlights are off and i don't remember what Bruce did to make it work last time and sometimes when I turn the headlights on only the parking lights come on then a little way down the road the lights come on. Go figure lol I think the center driveshaft needs to be replaced because it already tore up the new hanger bearing and the right rear door latch seams to have gone bad.
Oh well all in due time I'm headed to the shop hopefully for assembly today and maybe just maybe put it on the run stand
Any idea on driveshaft length? There's a 2 piece in the shed off a Frankentruck. It was a 3/4 ton camper special, but everything in it was cobbled and butchered off probably a dozen trucks, I bought it and stripped it for parts before the accidents started.

I'd donate it to you but you'd need to cover shipping or otherwise get it from GA.... assuming it was the right length which I kinda doubt - your frame is a C&C longer type isn't it?

Actually my frame was a pickup but I'll probably just make one

Ok so Jack worked late last night and never made it to the machine shop so no heads today. We did however do some big time cleaning and organizing. Filled a pickup bed with scrap metal and 8 garbage cans with garbage. There's enough room for me to get that Porsche done and listed for sale witch I will when the mustang goes. Now I have to go update the shed thread and go to bed.

With all my selling crap for Eric and cleaning up the for those guys I've earned my own keys to the building. Eric is camping this weekend with his family so I went out there straightened up a bit and did some cleaning and assembling.

I cleaned and installed the timing cover with a new seal put the fuel pump pushrod in and installed the new fuel pump. I also put in the new steel oil pump drive and pump but not the pickup tube because I want to properly clearance it. I cleaned the pan again and straightened the bent windage tray also.

I also put in the new brass freeze plugs it's not much but now that I have a key I'll get more done instead of waiting for people to show up and open the door

We got the run stand there the other night so I'm going to try and have it on there before Eric gets back Sunday

Jack never brought me the heads tonight but I've got plenty of cleaning and assembling I can do in the meantime. I set the pan on before I left just to keep the dirt out

A little more progress this morning. Set up the pick up tube clearance it ended up being about 3/8 on one side and about 1/2 on the other should be good enough. Installed the pan then edged the back of the balancer and the front of the cover where I won't be able to get paint later after assembly then installed the balancer.

I also fit the dipstick tube and cleaned the upper gasket surfaces

I wanted to figure out brackets and pulleys but without heads it's nearly impossible so I started cleaning the parts I know I'm going to need I've got the head bolts, push rods rockers all that stuff soaking in the parts washer. Tomorrow I'll bring some prepsol and Scotch-Brite so I can paint the bottom end before I bolt it on the run stand

I would have done it today but I don't want to buff overspray off a finished 46 Ford I could have moved it but I didn't want to deal with a cold BBC with 2 4s and a tunnel ram. No choke on that thing lol I brought home a set of MerCruiser valve covers to clean up and paint if you don't know what they are they look like cal custom covers but there black. I plan to sand them paint them orange and clean off the fins

That's it for now hopefully tomorrow I have heads

Wow so much for getting things done this afternoon! I guess I was tired. I was looking up part numbers online and the next thing I knew I thought it was early Monday morning lol talk about out of it! Oh well I'll just push harder tomorrow to make up for falling asleep. Maybe I can do some Monday instead

It's almost 9 who am I rip Van Winkle! Wow oh well off and running got to put a headlight in a Jeep this morning then I can get back at it. Rained to much last night for the yard work anyway so I can put it off until after work tomorrow. At least that's the excuse I'm going with lol Eric won't be there until this afternoon and Jack is bringing the heads then so hopefully I can have it on the run stand painted before they get there.

So i set a goal this morning to get it on the run stand and I hit a snag. The flexplate from the camper don't fit my crank so I flew home found what I think is the one from that motor ate some food and I'm going back! I want this thing DONE! Fire in the hole! Here's where I'm at

Time to go back again

Mission accomplished! I'm tired and dirty but I went back out and that was the correct flexplate. So I gave it a quick wash in the parts washer and put it on. Then I tackled something I never did before and I don't think it's a one-person job. I put the completed bottom end on the run stand and set it up the best I could

So for now I'm running those new BBC inviso heads. I'm hoping my sarcastic mock-up lights a fire when the other guys see it. Here's some more pictures for you guys
