If it's supercharged, my guess would be not an LS7 block. Those have notoriously thin cylinder walls. Not very well-suited to forced induction. The LS9 has forged internals, and I think could probably handle the extra boost to make 1,000 hp. If you were going to build one from the ground-up, the iron-block LSX would probably be the best for FE.

It's an LS9, but not the original (that's on an engine stand in the sun room). He bought the engine (long block) from some guy in Texas that ran open road and standing mile. The blower kit was designed for a 2010 Camaro, and required the drive to be shortened. It's fed by the Fore triple pump system. The other trick piece is the blower inlet that was custom made to hold the 108mm TB.

I finally got to get in this thing. He's been having problems with the fuel sender's, and they allegedly were fixed last week. Car was cutting off, and gauge was reading 1/4 until this:
