Junk yard treasures are the best. I got my 500 Caddy for the cost of come pick it up. I like your car. Home built like my 442. Did you use a GN gas tank & in-tank pump? What engine the 5.3? 3.42 gear? What kind of power do you expect it to make? Plan to make some test n tune passes to see what she does in the quarter? Fuel mileage should good to.

I like the rim sizes. (and looks) I plan to run them on my next gbody project. I plan to run 245/45/18s & 275/45/18 drag radials. What brakes do you run? Any input on suspension brakes tires for use with this wheel size? I hope you can in time put up more pics and more info with those pics. I like the (relative) factory understated appearence, flat hood, no giant race tach etc.
Thx for comment, i used a 4.3 fuel fuel injected mc tank with intake pump out of 96 chevy pick up the fuel lines on the GNs run on the drivers side and mc run on the passenger side.I used an ls1 5.7 and gears are 3.42 going to up grade to 3.73's  .I ran a 13.4 @ 106 mph first time running it no traction lol. im running 245/40/18 & 275/35/18 18x8 and 18x9.5 for front brakes im running b body spindles with f body slotted rotors and sphohn upper A-arms

You did say ls1 which would be the 5.7. Bigger heads cam & intake plus going to a 3.73 should make it a lot more powerful and quicker traction issues aside. Yea at 106 you should be picking up some high 12 second slips now. Years ago when I first got my GN tuned I ran some 13.4s at 107. With a tire change to a soft compound recap haha drag radials of the day I droped to 12.7s. That's why I mentioned the 275/40/18 drag radial (m&h) as I know it will fit hook & look good. ( I've had the M&Hs on my 87 442) Traction for an 11 second street car does not happen on regular radials especially ultra low profile. Not that that is your goals its mine. Just saying as it might interest you

If that fuel pump becomes an issue you might also check out http://WWW.Racetronix.com. Click the Buick GN fuel pump link to see there plug n play solutions. You never mentioned if you ever checked the mileage? It should still be decent for a quicker gbody street car. Who can afford to actually enjoy read drive a 10 mpg street car? BTW what is the overdrive ratio in that trans? Fbody rotors are what 12s?

Im not sure on the trans gear ratio is stock out of a 04 gto, gas milage i averaged 19mpg's. The 1le f body rotors are 12 inches ya im waiting for those tires to wear down  so i could get the 40 series, thx on the fuel pump info for future reference.

great build but you can never be done, there is always sumthing to do on a classic, trust me

O I know its one thing after another 😀

19 mpg is awesome! I've been researching every type of gas mileage boosting option. The EZ EFI by Fast is like 2 grand or something. Their XFI system is even more to buy a kit with everything you need.
Of course, that is to convert older engines that are still pigs, over to fuel injection.

Maybe an LS motor is the way to go. Probably would cost about the same, and you bring it up to modern times. I got a buddy with an LS2 GTO and I'm impressed with what it can do.

Nice build up. LS motors are really the only way to go anymore, unless you have a bunch of old school small block stuff already. I have a 04 GTO with a six speed, I knocked down 25.5 mpg on a trip from Everett WA across the state (up and over mountain pass) to the S.E. corner of the state, Clarkston WA. We (a buddie in his 67 chevelle) and I did that trip in the summer of 09'... We were not driving like little old ladies either!!!
