Awesome, thank you . I still see g bodies around here in the scrap yards. Will definitely be doing the steering upgrade. However finding a 2wd blazer in western PA may be impossible lol.
there is an O.E style sway bar from donors that attach @the lower control arms but you'd be ahead of the game if you opted for a chassis mounted style.far more effective design over the O.E version,.It’s definitely a budget build. However I believe I have one of the rare GM SS option cars along with the choo choo SS conversion. During disassembly I saw it has the larger f41front sway bar , fender braces and the crossmember to front horn bars already. Unless of course someone added them a long time ago. Is there a factory rear sway bar I could look for??
they have a rear F41 IIRCDo you think an aftermarket rear bar could match the F41 front? Or would I need to upgrade that one too?
Front to rear Swaybars are not an apples to apple's comparison, The front will always be larger by default as that's where the majority of the vehicle's weight is, Also why a lot of vehicles don't have them in the rear to begin with It was just an option back then With El caminos Especially. If I remember those F41's up front are an inch in a quarter or so there's no matching the size as your front bar is larger and solid and a aftermarket rear bar will be hollow and smaller. now keep in mind the chassis mounted rear bar operates way better than the stock style ever did.Now In an el camino application where it's biased heavily to the front running a huge bar in the rear isn't nessarry in a street application. you'll find the car is rather tail happy.sway bars Are a good conversation but Spring selection is just as important Before focusing on sway bars,my opinion has always been you gotta look @suspension as a whole picture.with spring and shock selection being @the forefront.Do you think an aftermarket rear bar could match the F41 front? Or would I need to upgrade that one too?
looks like a good project. I hope we get to see more pictures. And welcome to the forum there’s a lot of info here to help you stay budget minded.
