Stock Chassis flex

I wondered when a thread like this would make its way over to this site. There is a comprehensive thread on the build of the initial G body chassis at Schwartz Performance on the MonteCarloSS.com website in the rolling chassis section. Very nice stuff. If you have the funds, and are interested in maximum handling, then this would be the way to go.

Damn I never knew how much chassis flex g-bodies had. Its a nice frame I would love to have it but what's the price? It looks pretty expensive.

thats aswesome! i saw 2 whole gbodys. i wish i had monies... 😢 ok now when they say "gbodys" will they make wagon or elky frames which are longer? not that i could ever afford one but it would be nice to know...
btw ive been drinkin...but the point is still valid 8)

I just went to they're website and looked at the price and its almost 10,000 for a chassis. Wow could buy another Monte for that price.

well instead of buying that nice monte, buy a roller and sell your car and buy the frame to make an uber super happy funtime gbody extravaganza!

I dunno to me its not worth the price for a car that's gonna be driven on the street. It would only be cost affective if say you race it on weekend and such. Then maybe you could get your money back winning prizes and stuff. Ten grand is just to much money these days.

That $10G is just for the chassis. Add another 5-6 large for the suspension, then the axles... At that point it's not about the money if you have it. I'd do it in a heartbeat if I had the cash to put down.

I actually bought the old frame (shown in the videos) from Mr Howe, who had Schwartz build the new frame. I want to see how much boxing the rails helps to increase torsional flex and plan to play around with it a bit. I'm trying to setup an actual test fixture here at work to measure it. The frame is in excellent condition and I can't wait to start playing around with it.

Damn I figured it was ten grand for everything. I mean would do it if I had money like that. But that's allot of money to much.
