High priced, but looks like it would be pretty cool. Does it really cost $1600 to powder-coat a frame?

The Fleetwood was sick as F*&^!! Now that the attention has shifted somewhat towards G Body's i think it may open other peoples perception towards G body's! Though there is no way in H, E double hockey stick i can afford to spend 10 G's on a frame! To me a G Body has always been the working man's hot rod...Then again let's appreciate that G bodies are starting to garner attention! I think i am going to brace up my factory frame and see what happens.

That $10G is just for the chassis. Add another 5-6 large for the suspension, then the axles... At that point it's not about the money if you have it. I'd do it in a heartbeat if I had the cash to put down.

I actually bought the old frame (shown in the videos) from Mr Howe, who had Schwartz build the new frame. I want to see how much boxing the rails helps to increase torsional flex and plan to play around with it a bit. I'm trying to setup an actual test fixture here at work to measure it. The frame is in excellent condition and I can't wait to start playing around with it.

I boxed mine and strengthened the pick up points. I never measured it but there was no apparent flex in the chassis after the boxing and upgrades were done.

it would be very cool to drive a gbody with independent rear suspension. I think for most street purposes though, we like having the straight axle and breaking it loose every once in a while

It's nice frame but not $10,000 nice. Also I dislike how they deleted the bumper shocks on that frame, no impact protection.

curious to know what you did to help out on your frame

I boxed the c section with 14 gauge, welded metal straps to pick up locations and rewelded the factory welds, had to stick weld those welds...plus where the body mounts holes are I welded 14 gauge metal with the holes for the body bushings

do you have pics possible not sure what the c section is.. i also want to reweld this whole car... from certain spots on the frame to t-top section to back of the seat where there's gaps fillin that all with mig weld, i hate how gm didnt weld barley anything on these cars.. and if it is it's horrible

x2 have been thinking of removing the body off of my GP's frame since it all torn down already just need to find a welder...

I should have called it the c rail....it's inbetween the front and rear clip and the only open part of the frame. Like I mentioned if your going to upgrade the factory welds you'll need to do it with a stick..
