Been here, done this. Drilled the plug most of the way, hammered a 17/32" easy out into the hole, and it came out. Was an absolute PITA.

I have also found that left-handed drill bits work well. The heat of friction usually breaks the grip and the reverse rotation bit unscrews the offending item.

Left hand twist drill bit and the shortest one the tool supplier offers in HSS or cobalt. If you have tried to use any type of penetrating oil on the victim then heat is OUT. Best case is lots of smoke and maybe a minor fire!! Worst case is the heat causes the penetrating fluid to undergo a chemical reaction which generates toxic fumes and you get gassed!!

People make covers with fill plugs as far as I know seems like it's possible to full them through the vent maybe take a hose loose it it has one you might need to know how much you should put in huh

My advice for a cover needs to be taken with caution.

It even made me overfill my own rear differential.

This one from Moser is WAY higher than the factory fill plug.
