ok so...i might be able to strip an f-body for its parts for my 85 GP. the f-body in question is a camaro, late 80's-early 90's.

im already thinking bucket seats, maybe console (do these things fit reasonable well on the transmission tunnel in g-bodies?), front sway bar, maybe the steering box if i can determine its a quick ratio. also possibly the engine for later use if its a 350 (probably not though) or the engine accessories if i switch to a SBC in the future.

what else can i take off this thing that i can use for my GP?

AFAIK the camaro is complete, i'll get the details and VIN and hopefully some pics soon.

if you plan to use the steering box you'll want to change the stops or you'll need a 4 lane highway to make a u-turn...the degree in travel for the G body box is 39 degrees but for the F body depending on the wheel diameter was 32 for the 15" and 36 for the 16". ....the f body has a longer pitman arm than a g body and that's why the stops are different....

ok screw the box then. i just want something to drop in, not modify and tinker with then drop in.

i'll just get one from a g-body some other time then.

I've seen f-body consoles in a g-body, but I think the guy said he had to do a bit of triming to get it to fit just right.

If you have a place to put it, just take the whole car. Then you can pick at it as you go...

I have the seats, console, and shifter out of a third gen f-body in my malibu. Here's a pic.

i might be able to do that. i'll have to see what he;ll let me do. i know at one time he was willing to sell it to someone for a mere couple hundred. i might buy it for a couple hundred and then strip it for every good and usable part period jsut so anyone can have the chance to have a part off the car and then junk it. heck i might even be able to make a couple bucks on it.
