A switch pitch converter won't work in a regular trans or vice versa, the stator drive on the pump is different. The entire pump is different with a solenoid installed on the back of it that regular transmissions don't have. There is also a cup plug with a tiny orifice installed in the case behind the pump that is not in a regular transmission. I swapped all of these parts out of my transmission when I changed it back to regular operation. The converter is notably different when you look at the transmission side of the converter in that is has a second set of spot welds in a smaller diameter that a regular converter does not have. I bought mine from Poston Enterprises in the late '90s. It has a high stall of 4000rpm when 'on', and a low stall of 1400rpm when 'off'. You can google pictures of the difference in the pumps to see what you have.
