Stunning 85' Grand Prix

For you guys in the US, I'd say that $4500 is way too much. Up here in Canada that car could possibly sell for around $4500 due to the average amount of body work that it would take to get a Canadian car to that level.

I would guess that even in Michigan cars rust quite commonly but why not go south a couple of states and get a car in good condition for less?

I got my Regal Limited for $3000 CAN and it had cd player, 305, tuned Q-Jet, power windows, cruise, and a decent paint job.

We can't really judge what that car is worth unless we live in the area. G-bodies don't hold a good average across the nation. In my area that'd be rare, so I don't know what it would go for. $4500 sounds high, but could you get a beat up one cheaper and redo it to that condition for less? If no, then it'd be worth it, imho.

And maybe I'm weird(I know I am  ), but I'm from "the new generation", I love the chrome on my cutlass, and don't like my power windows/door locks/auto trans.
I geuss after something give you a problem you tend to not like it anymore(power window sticking down occasionally, and the power door locks don't even work). I'd love to find a clean set of manual doors, and I plan to put in a 4 speed.

I really like having power locks, seats, and windows. This is my sixth car, and my first with power accesories and an automatic transmission. I'm enjoying it so far.

I like manual cranks, manual locks, and manual transmissions... Simple is better. The less chrome, trim, and electric crap on a car the better...

It's a preference, it's not that I haven't had both... I just like it better.

I'm in my mid-forties and agree wholeheartedly.

As for the price of the car, I'm guessing it's probably not too far off for that neck of the woods. I wouldn't buy it for that myself, because if I'm spending that much, I'd want it more to my own taste and level of upgrades/mods.

i have an 83 with a 307 olds in it, im putting a pontiac 350 in and getting painted in may and lookin for suggestions on color schemes, i was thinkin 2-tone like this one but red on top to match the interior and black on bottom, any thoughts?

I say y'all are crazy

Completely rust free frame and body. Great looking car. Nothing wrong with a rebuilt 305 (probably beat half the cars on this site) Interior looks to be in great shape. CHROME SUCKS It looks cheap and cheesy :!: and traps dirt and moisture creating future rust problems. If I was in the market for a Grand Prix, I would hesitate giving $4000 for this car.

You guys crack me up. It would cost more than $4500 (including time spent) to do the body work and frame work that most GBody's need to look as good as this car :!: Who cares if it doesn't have A/C ... I am from MI, you get about 2 chances a year to even use A/C up there :!: These pillow top 60/40 bench seats are the most comfortable seats that I have ever sat in (in a car) plus they are great with the ladies. Its obviously not a race car ... what does it need bucket seat for :?: or a console shift, for that matter :?: oh and CHROME SUCKS

Good eye G-Body_Vet, I didn't even pay attention to the date of the post 😳

Why would this thread be brought back to life to get opinions on paint schemes anyway :?:
