Definately check the cat.Did you change the carb because you thought it had a problem or just wanted something different? Why I ask is because my dad had a van he thought was low on power and it started smelling like a rotten egg well needless to say he nearly caught the thing on fire one day we were pulling a boat and it started lugging real bad so we pulled over and the pipe from the manifolds to the cat were nearly incandescent. I would defintely look into it.

thanks for the replies. Was having a cold stall problem in the mornings but was planning on changing the carb anyway. I noticed the smell is definetly coming from the around the cat. The smell gets alot stronger behind the pax side wheel well. I didn't have a chance to look at it but will tomorrow. Any special tools required to get that cat off?

a sawsall....but I never play with exhaust stock exhaust systems....muffler shops have the tools to do it and if you go out and buy your own parts you save very little
