Were all GM G-Body wagon the same, except for the fenders and front end from 78-83?

No. I believe the bodies of the Buick and Oldsmobile cars are the same. I know the bodies for the Malibu and Pontiac are the same. So I guess that would mean the front clips on the Malibu and Pontiac are interchangeable as is the Buick and Olds. But I don't believe the buick/olds will swap with a malibu/pontiac.

SafariWagon is correct.

While the body is ultimately the same, it's the lower body line that is really the only difference.
The Chevy's and Pontiac's bulge out...

Buick's and Olds' go inward...

You're thinking of the full size B-body wagons. All the 1977-1990 B-body wagons use identical sheetmetal from the firewall back. Unfortunately the G-body wagons are not all the same.

Hi Tony,
Have you found anything, or considering something at this time? I know whatever you find will be a fine example. I know how particular you are from the vehicles you've owned in the past...and currently own.
Hope you and family are doing well. Talk to you soon.

Still looking around Jack!.. I'm trying not to be too picky since its a driver for me, and it'll be sitting outside, so its OK if its rough... just looking for the right one.
Thanks hope your doing well down there... I will stop by if I end up driving a wagon back from FL!

Thanks Tony,
Still hangin' in there. Yeah, let me know if you pass thru again. I'll keep my eyes open for a decent wagon. Are you essentially looking for a winter beater, or kind of a middle of the road fixer upper?
I hope the family is doing well. Your little ones must be getting big. They grow fast, don't they?
Talk to you soon buddy. Take care and be well.
