Swapping rearends

I'd still find out for sure if it's from a g-body first. If it was it should have already had 3.23 or 3.73 gears in it. I'm really leaning it being out of an a-body.

An 8.5 won't need a spacer. They used the same series carrier.

I'd be a little concerned now, seeing as G Bodies only ran from 78-88, and the 8.5 wasn't Available on Buicks until 1984, and only on GN and T-Type, so it would have had to come off an A body Regal.

Well there ya go, it would be from the 76. It's not rare and it's not a bolt in deal either. And should be 4"+ wider.
 
Jrm i was wondering about that, i was going to do a length comparison once i got the 7.5 out. However, i'm not dropping my rear if the other one won't fit. Also were the A body cars 4 link rear suspension or leaf?
