Hi guys, thinking about upgrading my Cutlass sway bars. Is bigger always better, when it comes to sway bars. I have 32,5mm front, and 22,5mm rear sway bar, is that stock for g-body?

First I'm thinking about to upgrade the rear swaybar. Is 30mm too thick? Is there too thick when it comes to swaybars  Car is a summer daily driver, not a race car, but I want it to be stiff still...

If your measurements are correct then I would say someone already upgraded your front sway bar so I would probably only do the rear.
If you are keeping a stock style bar the upgraded version is typically 1" or 25.4 mm they also have the more expensive drag/ pro touring rear bars that mount to the axle and the frame.

What is the original size in the front sway bar then?

And yes, I know normally they are 1", but I'm thinking about going custom, as there is a shop that does those sway bars, they just need the old one for measurements, and they can make it as thick as you want 😀 I was just thinking, is bigger always better? When it comes to some point, it's just adding weight if I'm going too big?

Look for a hollow F body sway bar, it fits nicely and has the same weight as the stocker. Box the rear control arms, or get aftermarket ones, this will help tremendously.

I'm doing it right now

We use a classic combination of 1.250" front and 1" rear.

If you get the rear bar too big, the car will be loose or tend to oversteer. It won't hurt much on on the street portion of things but you have to be careful with the balance when cornering near 100%.
