BUILD THREAD Sweet Johnny & Gina: A Love "Two Large" To Fail

They are drop springs, but I bought them back in 2008, so I couldn’t tell you much about them. The front I actually had to cut, as the front sat way too high.
just grabbed a set of BMR springs for my GP, hopefully I have a better experience.
Ahh, thanks anyway. I also hope you have a better experience this time around because pulling springs repeatedly isn't my idea of fun.

There's been another development as well: the trans is toast. After very little warning she finally stopped shifting into 3rd when I drove away from work this evening, and as soon as I was sure it wasn't just a late occurring shift I pulled off to the side of the road and turned my hazard lights on. I checked the cable, fluid, etc and came to the conclusion that I'd be driving home at 40 mph so I pulled the release for the switch and the sucker snapped off in my hand.

After apologizing to my car I stopped for gas to minimize my chance of walking. While I was there a nice gentleman stopped to offer assistance since I was checking everything- the turn signal indicators told me that I blew out a brake light bulb and needed to know which side. I don't know if they normally make it obvious which side is out but I've got LED bulbs in my front markers so both of my dash indicators glow slightly when the lights are on. There was no glow at all and hitting the brakes made them both bright. We had a quick chat about G Bodies and his '78 Cutlass before going our separate ways, so that was cool.

Luckily I have a TH350 I can take from the Camino, and have an 1,800 stall converter on the shelf to go with it. I'm also off the next 4 days and the weather is supposed to be great. However, I have either an M.D., Ortho, P.T., or lawyer appointment each day so I'm not sure how this will go down. I have the goods, the tools, and the space to get rolling again so I'll dig into that right away and make something happen though. I guess the suspension is taking a back seat for now but you've convinced me to go all in as far as what's in the picture I posted, and when I get to that I'll have F41, 34 mm, and 36 mm front bars and F41, Spohn, and 23 mm Blazer rear bars to try out.

One TH350 courtesy of an El Camino that didn't want to give it up.

Oh, and some springs.

not to hijack this awesome thread, but....
...I just got a pair of DMCA notices from Google that parts of this thread were reported for infringing on copyrights and I have no idea WTAF they're on about. Is the title of the thread a reference to song lyrics or something else? Makes no sense to me but maybe somebody could enlighten me before I go blindly submitting a counter-notice? TIA.

Don't want this to de-rail the thread so carry on, just hoping somebody knows what it might be referring to.

Might be part of the Facebook/YouTube crash?

It is interesting to hear about behind the scenes goings on. Thank you. I haven't seen much admin policing since I've mellowed in the post-mandate present day, but it is interesting to see what an administrator has to deal with, even in the space of safe topics like 46-year-old car repair.

I see the politics ramping up on other sites - election year. It's going to get nuts this fall.

I'm not sure what they're referring to either, and the title was an original idea. I'll go through the entire thing front to back and get back with you. I apologize for causing issues- it's a natural ability that I can't seem to turn off.

No its cool, not your fault. There isn't any specifics yet ("it might take weeks!" 🙄 ) but I'm gonna just wait until the report gels and I can see what the actual problem (supposedly) is before I act on it. 🤷‍♂️

Carry on!

Thank you, sir. Please let me know if I need to take any kind of action whatsoever.
