T5 Header Help!

When I ran a T5 in my old Malibu I used these.

Hedman 68310

They are long tube but do not interfere with the mechanical or hydraulic linkage.

Those might be the ones I have on my GP.....

I have been looking at a bunch of different headers and those were the ones I thought may work. I was hoping pontiacgp had these ones and thank you to TURNA. I guess I will order a set of these and hope for the best! I will post back when I get them on if they fit. I have angle plugs as well and hope that won't interfere with the solution.

I will bring this thread back from the dead with a related question. I am collecting parts to swap an S10 T5 into an 82 'bu wagon. I will also be swapping in a stock 97 Vortec 350 (1 pc rear seal) with a carb intake. I might upgrade the cam and valve springs before swapping it in, but nothing radical. I have sourced the pedals, z bar, rods, etc to use the 462606 bell housing (10 1/2" clutch) specific to the g body with the relocated fork mount and g body specific fork. Before pulling the trigger, I wonder about the flywheel required for the Vortec engine. Idon't recall whether a 10.5" flywheel was ever offered with a 1 pc. seal engine. I am thinking I will need to figure out how to run an 11" clutch, and the required flywheel and bell housing.

11" is to big it will not work with that bell.

If you can find the Holy grail of bell housings part number 464697

That is a GBody 11" 1978 only

Ok so I have been busy and didn't get back to let everyone know how the headers worked. They are currently on the car and worked better after I modified them a little bit. I had to cut the collector right by the four tubes and bend it down so it was level. Then welded it back together and put my o2 sensor there also. They would have worked without cutting but I didn't like how close it was to the slave cylinder. It was all worth the headaches and five different sets of headers when I drive down the road grabbing gears!

Keep in mind there are 2 versions of the 464697.

For a GBody you need the version with the clutch fork stud in the lower position

Indeed. I got the same ones that are in the pic you posted on this thread. Thanks guy!

Looking forward to some pictures. I did not know that this was a one-year only casting. It was indeed sourced from a 1978 Elco SS. With an 11" 168 tooth flywheel drilled for a 10.5 clutch. Another case of 'what was GM thinking?'
