Where can I find the laws for Massachusetts?

I want to have the exhaust exit in front of the rear tires but want to make sure it is legal first.

i know this doesn't exactly help, but the general rule of thumb is 2in behind the rearmost part of the rear door. so if you have a 2 door there shouldn't be a problem, a 4dr is close though.

there are tail pipe laws? never heard that before. i was gonna have a "side pipe" for may satty, but now i gotta find out of i got laws. damn laws...tryin to keep me down...

In the better parts of the country, it usually doesn't matter, but in the North East, land of excessive regulation and taxation it probably does. ESPECIALLY in Massachusetts.

that's what we have up here.....the one car that I have seen with the tailpipes in front of the door at the bottom of the front fender is the McLaren Mercedes SLR....but they go fast enough so to outrun the cops so they're not worried..lol

I am pretty sure that it is illegal. I had bought a 80 GP that had the tailpipes exit before the rear tires and no one wanted to give me a sticker. I lived in Massachusetts. Check out MASS DMV
All motor vehicle exhaust systems shall discharge the exhaust beyond operator, passenger, and/or trunk compartment.

Up here our laws are pretty bad on cars, and our rule is stated that it has to exit past the drivers compartment i looked into when i put sidepipes on once and as long as they pointed kinda down it was ok.But trucks can end past the cab underneth...some laws just dont understand.

Thanks for posting that, I was looking under MGL's.

Guess I will have to fix my exhaust the right way. It hits the suspension and the rattle pisses me off. A BFHammer should fix that,
