hey guys I'm taking a break from the cutlass for a while, I'm now spending my money and time on my truck... it all started when the clutch went out at 45,000 miles. So I saved money and have been double clutching it for a while with few problems but I just can't run the truck hard (4.3 5spd 06 silverado).

Then I got sidetracked and bought a nice 8.6" truetrac posi and 4.10 ring/pinion gears. As I was looking for an installation kit I found a 4.3 mercmarine manifold on ebay so I was sidetracked once again. Now I have a room full of parts (also the exhaust for the cutlass 😳 ) and I'm getting nowhere lol. So first step is to fix up that rear end in my truck. Then get a competition clutch and hurst short throw shifter, then add my bamf injection setup and efi tune and It should be killin time on the street  After all that I'll go back to the cutlass. Now to just stay on one project...

It's easy to get side-tracked, isn't it?

Between the three project cars I have (442, Olds Wagon, & my Caprice I never touch), it's no wonder they all go so slowly...

Dude i'm in the same situation lol.

Everytime i put money away for my camaro, i end up doing something to my monte.

Just can't help it 😛, but **** it, at least im happy and having fun!

I go away from mine all the time. Sure I do get a lot done in spurts, but that's because I have no money and stored up parts. Right now I am rushing to get the interior and stereo done before school starts. Once I am in school, I will probably not do anything to it for a while as I will need to spend my time concentrating on my studies instead.

Ya lol all your comments are true for me too. I really doubt I'll ever be completely done with either my truck or my cutlass, there's always somethin else to do!

blake- I've got three too but my third pos honda I just let rot. There's a point where I just can't spend time or money on something that will never be worth over 1200$

camaroadam- that exact thing happened to me! I had about a grand saved up for the cutlass, then the clutch went out in my truck and it started the ball rollin again

85 brougham - I've found if you spend the money on the big parts then you'll usually have some time durin school to mess around with something small (and have the $$ too). Like this intake I bought, complete with rails and injectors, all I need to do is buy some connectors/brass fittings/plugs/tune etc. It'll stay in my parts pile till I can get to it this next sem.

Here's a pic of my silverado:

I really think 4.10 posi, caltracs, 1" rear drop blocks, comp. clutch, hurst shifter, and this new injector set up will really wake her up. By that time I might be able to dip into the 15's in a 1/4 with her. She might be worth takin to the strip 😱 . And I know that doesn't sound amazing but you've gotta understand this was once upon a time a stock work truck with a 9 second 0-60  . Hopefully I don't lose the fun aspect after all that, it really is fun to drive esp. on the highway is a blast. I think going from 3.23's to 4.10's will end those games for good though

My future plans for it is a wynjammer kit, try to run it at 8psi and see how it goes... if it's wanting more then it's time for a 25-35 shot nitrous. I debated on a sy/ty turbo setup but I just don't have the fabrication skills or a good welder friend, and it's not a smart decision while I'm in school. The centr. supercharger that doesn't require oil lubrication I can just take the belt off, replace the old ecm and drive like nothing happened. That was a huge plus in this decision. But I don't see this happenening until at least next summer if not longer.

btw guys I sold the jag 😢
