Ok so I had Regal mirrors on my wagon. They always looked a bit off they are not in correct angle with the door. I'm hoping its just the plastic gasket/spacer I need to change because they are not off by much. I need help confirming this and finding what I need to correct it before I paint the car. Thanks all!

This is the best pic I have showing what I mean

There are different plastic spacers/gaskets used. But I also think that the pedestals may be different on some models. I have used monte carlo mirrors on malibus, or regals etc. I just swapped around the gaskets, pedestals as needed.

Not much help i know, but I always had literally 4-5 sets laying around when doing my cars, lol

Do you have any gaskets laying around you don't need? There only off by I would guess 3/8" I think a different spacer will do the trick. I think the regal spacer is like 1/8 on the bottom side so something 3/8 or 1/4 might work.

I have to did around in my garage and find the box or mirrors, lol. The downside is Not knowing if they are the ones you need unless we compare them to what you have. BUT, I will look and see what I have, then set the aside if I do.

Sweet thanks, I have my old ones to compare.

Bumping this back up still an outstanding issue that I need to address soon before paint.

Jim if you have any time to check for the box of mirror parts you have I would appreciate it.

Or if anyone else can help or has some information for me that would be helpful also.

I thought I'd quickly change out a broken mirror on my 78 Grand Am today.
At first I thought the only difference was that the Grand Am had a thicker gasket than the 80 Regal?

The pedestal on the Grand Am mirror was a lot taller too.
Fortunatlly I was able to swap the Regal head onto my base.

So, I may have several sport mirrors for sale once I do an inventory in the next couple of weeks.

Malibu, El Camino, Lemans, Grand Lemans, Boneville and Grand Am will all be the same since they use the same doors...

Anyone know what interchanges with Regal, Cutlass, Grand Prix, etc?
