Last night when I finished working on my project I drained the water from my compressor, going to prime 3 panels today. When I went to close the drain valve it wouldn't work. It had deteriated on the inside. 2nd time in the last 15 years. The ONLY piece of hardware I could find to have the same threads is an air tool fitting. I welded the tool end closed and threaded it right in. New ones (2-one for future) will arrive Thursday,I sure couldn't leave my compressor down till then. Hope it helps somebody else,If you didn't already know.

When I set up my 80 gal. compressor I added a brass 90 degree fitting where the original drain was and extended it out from underneath the compressor with a long straight brass tube and then installed my petcock on the end of that, this gives me easy access for draining and also the water sits in the brass tube instead of the bottom of my tank.

Another great idea. Thanx
