TH350 Kickdown help

I need to know or learn about the adjustment of the kickdown. I have my cable routed to the carb and wonder if the cable should be taught at idle or have a little play.
 
I think on those you pop the clip up, hold the throttle to WOT and push the clip back in while holding WOT. And you're done.
 
Cable is suppost to be tight a wot its always a little loose at idle. If its to tight it will kick down way to soon so if tight at idle no good. Dont worry if it a little off it wont hurt the trans unlike a 200r4 or 700. I leave mine unhooked and just control the shift manually been doi g it this way for yrs o ly down fall is if in drive car will go through the gears way to quick so you need to manually hold gears.

After you do this, be sure to check that it is not keeping the throttle from going all the open. It is very common :idea:
