Just picked up the car a few weeks ago and noticed it doesn't kick down from 3-2 or 2-1 on WOT, just stays in whatever gear it's in, upshifts fine and manually downshifts but I get nothing in drive. What gives?

Maybe you just need a bigger sig photo.

Probably not. Make sure the kickdown cable is attached to the carb. If it is attached be sure that it has a "springy" feel to it when extended. If it feels loose it may be broken or detached inside the pan.
