Ok I want to get thus straight while the motor is unbolted. Before I pulled the motor back out I pulled the Buick out of the shop and drove it down the lane. On the 1-2 ship you would hear a quick slip noise. Did it every time. So thus is the story leading up to it.

When I originally built the motor I wanted a fresh transmission. So I took it to my uncle to have it rebuilt. He owns a transmission shop. It's a th350. So he rebuilt it and I gave him my coan racing manual reverse valve body. Thus led to removing modulator and governor I believe. He also told me he removed the cushion steels and put in extra clutches. Is this right? It has me a bit worried.

Transmission is full of non syn b&m trick shift, Hughes streetmaster 2400 stall, factory 2.73 or 2.96 ( I have 3.73 to install)

My neighbor said transmission is slipping because the rear gear is way to high for the torque converter. Is this right or do I have another issue.

Also can someone explain coan direction stating the valve body uses 2nd gear accumilator and not to neutral shut down. Why is that and what could it do if that happened? So that means don't put in park and shut down?

Thanks in advance for the help

Due to not having enuff gear the converter in you car will make it appear it is slipping when its probably fine..If your hearing a noise when it shifts I would check the u joints in your drive shaft.

U joints huh? It seemed to be a very distinct slipping noise like a sssssssssssssttttttttttttt. Somehow sound that one out Haha

LOL idk maybe due to not having gears the trans is takeing a lot longer to shift kinda ssssssssssssssssssssssttttttt wineing

I'm hoping the gear change will fix it. Never done gears but picked up a f body posi 28 spine mosier axles and proper thickness 3.73 gear set. Never done a rear before so this should be fun

It's not the gears causing a problem on the 1-2 shift. I ran 2.41's with a 2500 and a 3000 stall and the shift was still nice and firm.

it didnt necessarily feel like it slipped but def sounded like it. i just know nothing about the internals of an auto. could it be the fluid i am running? can cushion steels be removed from a th350? etc?
