i have a th350 trans right now im running 323's in the rear im looking to go up to 373's will this be a good idea & the car will be driven on the streets & freeway :?:

What size rear tires? Unless you like your motor pushing 3000 rpm, not ideal on the highway.

Freeways with 3.73's and no overdrive? No way. Your current 3.23 ratio is even over my limit.

I ran that combo in my '76 Monte Carlo. Its definitely good for the strip, but if you plan on daily driving or making road trips with them, I'd recommend against the combo. I averaged 15mpg city and19mpg hwy after I swapped in the 350 horse 350 w/ the stock 2.73's. After I swapped the gear ratio to 3.73's, I was averaging 9mpg city and 12mpg hwy.

I'd recommend a Gear Vendor unit or finding an OD trans.

I would stay with the 3.23s or put the 3.73s in and find an overdrive transmission. 3.73s are definatley funner but driving on the highway she's gonna beg for another gear.

I wouldn't recommend 3.73's with a TH350 for a car driven on the the freeway. You're going to hate it. If anything, go with an OD trans for low end get up and go, and a nice highway cruising gear.

I have 3.08's in mine with a TH350. I will be going with a 200-4R and 3.42 gears. At 80 mph on the interstate, the rpm's are just a bit over 3000. That's with a 26" diameter tire.

i have the same combo in my elcamino,, its fun,,for the first 15 minutes after that,,its all over,,,stay with a 323 or308,,
i love the set up,, but this aint my daily driver,, i use my cutlass wagon for that , so for me its ok,, but if this is really a daily driver you will grow tired of this set up ,,,as usual,,,cheers,,, 8)

Bro, stay with da 3.23 im looking for a set know for my 78 malibu with a th350... When i had my elko i have 3.73 gears and da freeway SUCKED!! Dont do it unless u get and overdrive trannny... Im still looking for 3.08 or 3.23 gears.. Trust 🙂
