I first off want to say thank you to all of the great people, knowledge and help I've recieved from those on this forum, without you guys my Malibu would not be where it's at today!

A little background on myself... when I bought the car I was 20. Had a truck for sale for $6500 and $1500 laying around. Grandpa always told me get a sbc. When I want something I want it now so I took my $1500 and found "Mallory" (sellers nickname for my Malibu) . Who would have thought the next day I would have sold my truck. If I would have waited one more day no way I would have settled for the heap I limped home from Jacksonville, Ohio. One bolt in crossmemeber (from a chevette), chicken wire holding in the radiator, bad body mounts, no wipers, no functioning speedo, turd slow Malibu lol. And that doesn't even begin to say how bad it was. However I am very happy it worked out this way because I feel like I know the gbody platform fairly well and I love everything about them.

I did a lot to the car then bought a 5 bedroom foreclosed home that needed a years worth of work and got away from Mallory (the name stuck with the car haha). This winter we just had I decided to dive back into it and hammer this project out. A lot of people my age don't care for cars let alone older ones so it's nice being able to come onto the forum with those I can relate to. Now for some pics!

Here was my truck for sale

my Malibu had 0 suspension bars when I got it. I managed to find fender to core support bars, firewall to core support, radiator cross braces, jounce bars, f41 sway bar, rear sway bar, Grand Prix bar, tied the rear frame together with 1x2 angle iron, made some grand national seat braces ect..

The only parts on the entire care that are original are the front lower control arms and the power steering pump.

This winter my main focus was redoing the interior. I gutted everything a por15 the entire interior of the car

I basically rewirded majority of the dash and got it set up for my new gauges I wanted to install

IMG_1989.PNG

Once it was rewired I stated throwing the dash back together. My dash was done for so I installed a dash cover.

Then I did a lot of the interior with duplicolor vinyl and fabric dye and got the led dash set up

My gauge faces didn't look the greatest so I found some white gauge face overlays online to give them that "new" look

I was missing a back dash so I made a trip to mikes montes to get a new one along with tons of other new pats. I cut the back dash out for 6x9s as well as the metal in the back dash since stock setup was 4x10s

I found a set of bucket seats out of a 02 Cadillac catera that I really liked. Fully adjustable every way, up, down front back, tension on your sides they were heated as well and had a leg extension and also fully adjustable head rest. Picked them up for $40 each at a local pick n pull. Nice leather. Was waiting on getting them welded because they seat tracks were flat so I fabricated some brackets up

Once the seat tracks were painted I was ready to put this sucker back together!

Looks like you accomplished a good deal of work on the car...kudos to you. Keep up the good work and show us what you're up to.
We'll be checking on your progress...😉

Btw, your truck was pretty nice. I could understand why it sold quickly.
