IF ONLY THEY MADE THEM REAR WHEEL DRIVE

It is rear wheel. Have you ever driven a 5.3 fwd Grand Prix GXP? 303hp to the front wheels isn't anything to thumb your nose at either.

I have and I can't get use to smoking the front tires....feels like I should be going in reverse..

Just an FYI the Caprice is Rear Wheel Drive and shares nothing with the impala. There was a dealer that found a loophole and was able to sell quite a few Caprices to the public with leather and all of the goodies. But GM stopped that pretty quick.

Oh and i have driven an 06 Monte SS with the 5.3 v8 and 303hp same but lighter than the GP. Its a great car with power to spare but the traction control is the biggest POS i have ever seen. You put 300hp and mate it to a transmission only rated for 200 instead of upgrading the transmission to andle it GM and their wisdom decided to put so much traction control into it that if you stomp it a dead stop the car surges back and forth so much it nearly kills your back. Its like when you first learn to drive a car with a manual transmission.

why do these look so much gayer than the G8s?
... on the plus side, I like the mini shifter console in the cop car version.

Well all you have to do to find out what new GM fast car is going to hit the states, just check out Australians Holden line, the GTO, G8, Camaro, Cruze,Regal, Caprice are all Holden's just de-tuned and re-badged to be an american Version.

And yes the Camaro is being built here in the US at the same plant they used to make the Monte Carlo, but it was based off of the Holden designs for a new Monaro (GTO).

You want to see the really fast version of the cars just google "Holden HSV" and you see what im talking about. It take an Australian to make an American Muscle Car now days.

Their Cars = Our Cars
Holden Caprice/Statesman = Chevrolet Caprice
Holden Monaro = Pontiac GTO
Holden Commodore = Pontiac G8
Holden UTE = Pontiac G8 ST
Holden Epica= Buick Regal
Holden Cruze = Chevrolet Cruze

While I'm not a fan, they should bring back the El Camino using the UTE. Haha That G8 ST would have been nice.

looks like a impala to me

X2 yeah the back looks exactly like the newer impala to me. It seems like all chevys nowadays look the same. Oh yeah I read about them bringing it back as a police only version in either Motor Trend or C&D. I'll see if I can find the article when I get home and if I do I'll post it up here.
