The Club - any deterrent value?

Wow, amateurs. I've never had a window broken. I sure thought all knew how to pull the top of the window back to unlock.

They used to break my column until I got one of these on the column.

The best deterrent is the warning light that the car has alarm to keep the amateurs at bay...for the next set of thieves something that is not obvious so they don't even know where to start looking....but if they really want your car all the have to do is back up to the *ss end of your ride with a tow truck....

and the club works best if your walking up to your car with the club in your hand when the thief is trying to break into it....

The Club is no more of a deterrant than putting a sticker on the window saying "Protected by Acme Alarm Systems." If someone wants the car bad enough, they will do what it takes to steal it if they have the means and know how. From the looks of that botched job, I guess stealing these old GM's is becoming a lost art 😱

I used to have a problem with kids vandalizing my work truck when I parked it in front of my parents house in NY. It stopped when I put a sign in the window saying "Under video camera surveillance." Sounds stupid, but it worked.

I leave mine parked in my driveway with no door windows, no hood, and a tarp to cover it. Funny, but no one seems to want to steal it.

when was the last time you looked under the tarp?....maybe it's not there anymore...

I have an alarm, use a column guard and also have a kill switch. The guard and alarm light are good visuals to keep the amatuers away, but the kill switch is best for actual protection from theft.

The club is easily defeated by cutting the wheel as mentioned, but something is better than nothing - I'd rather spend the money on a column guard though if you don't have one of those.

Where do I find column guards for a g-body? I would really like to get one.
