Glad it resulted in a win after the stand catastrophe. That sucks, I hope nothing else was damaged aside from your pride and the paint job.

Nice work man, looking forward more than ever to seeing it as a roller!
👍🏻

P.S. - shoulda gone 12 bolt, all GM, lighter, and just as strong if they’re built right.
Just sayin’....
😉
I was thinking about why I went to a 9" today, I did some pondering between swearing at that thing, If I was doing it over I would go strange S60. It is unbelievable how easy it is to find parts since EVERY F250-350 has a 60 up front. And you are right, even a 12 bolt would have been a better idea.... good thing it looks beefy. Lol

Yeah, I struggled with all of this. But, in my case, wanting to autoX the ole girl and not get lapped by the entire field on the first lap of the road course, I am trying to cut weight by about 200 or more while transfering ballast front to rear. So the “noticeably” heavier rear hurts on the former, helps on the latter. 🤔

So, just decided “could I build what I have to hold up knowing that, even if I go 900EFI, wilder cam, and flippin flappin rosto frackin, I really hate that wabbit headers?”

Given the meager actual size differential between 10 and 12 internals, if I go 28 to 30 splines, 1350 yoke, all hardened quality parts, adding drum to disc not only improves stopping but solves the “snap a clip - lose your axle” problem, I’m thinking it will but who knows?

Also glad gravity only hurt your cosmetics and most importantly NOT the mechanic 👍

If you are going with an 8.5" 10 bolt and 30 splines I would think you will be good. The odds of me finding a 8.5 up here were almost 0, so I thought a 9" would be a good idea. I'm sure I won't be as angry at it once it's in and driving though. 😆

Rear is almost final bolted in. Decided I'm done for the day as it just needs to be torqued down, sway bar installed and brake lines connected.

Couldn't help but grab a few pics. Front is sitting on the suspension but dialed all the way back on the springs. So it will be higher. Back should be a tad lower also, not sitting on the suspension in the back.

Even with the 8.5 wide 5" bs I have a finger width to the frame. Win!

Not looking too bad under there.

The hooker cross member in its glory. Built like a bridge girder. Beefy.

Wow, stouter than my Gforce. 👍
Holley might be pricey but so far I have yet to be disappointed in any piece I've bought. Even the replacement clamshells for the motor mounts were a tad heavier than factory and were flawlessly finished.
