First day in the garage after 2 weeks of night shift in the middle of the damn arctic freeze. 😬

Got the strange yoke in, torqued and driveshaft installed. Looks pretty good.

Then I got to finishing up the fuel injection wiring, plumbed in the trans cooler and did a bunch of final checks.

SHE LIVES!!!!!

Funny accent you have there. 😉

Congrats!

Hell yeah brother, way to go!!
👍🏻

I don't love my box, the drawers aren't ideal for my tools and my preference, but it was less than 1/4 a big name box price. Considering gravity does most of the work keeping the tools in it I think it does alright. Should have got a 56" or 68" box, I'm already out of space, but I am a tool hoarder.
I have two older small boxes and a Peavey Mart box about the size of your box, all full. I also have a cool stainless top old medical cart with a flip up top, small drawer and storage underneath, also full. I have my 10 ton press and grinder on it. Good luck on the fire up, the first one is always nerve racking.

Made some progress today. Tied up a few small things here and there, ran the vacuum line to the transmission vacuum modulator, pulled the intake off to mount the IAT sensor, I guess I'll start there.

Got it off and ready to drill a hole for the IAT and discovered Chinese quality control missed something important.

Damn.... 😡 Gonna buy a Delco I guess. Returning to rockauto is more of a pain in the butt than sucking up the $30 loss...

So I then proceeded to mount up the fenders. That turned out pretty good.

Not exactly Donovan tight on the gaps but it'll do.

Starting to look like a car again.

So I ventured out to the shed and dug out the original wheels and tires from when I bought the car. Pretty sure they are cheapo knock offs but would be nice to see how the suspension is gonna tuck them.

I like the look but these rims are not gonna work. Lol

Tight on the fenders and roomy on the frame side. Lol.

At least it's gonna have a badass stance.

Begging for some fender flares.

Time for an update.

Disclaimer time. If you have car ocd, might want to turn away. This is gonna be a bit sloppy....

I've been overthinking my wheel situation the last couple weeks. So I got in touch with a buddy that's a BMW guy. Turns out he had a set of spare rims. Turns out they fit not bad. I haven't pulled the trigger but they might work for a while for tuning and mock-up, maybe even some road time to stir up some hate from the purists. Lol

Either way. Pure M goodness on staggered 18s.

UMI 2" drop stage 4 for the win!

AND She's a roller!

I also decided to slide in my LSX 454 cam, because idling is for suckers, and install the 210 Bosch squirters. Cam is waiting for a proper balancer puller arriving Monday. Don't remember how I got it off originally but I figured I'd do it right this time.

So a nice IAT sensor (87 GN if you need one) showed up from Rock Auto, I drilled and tapped the 3/8 NPT thread into the intake where the crank vent was behind the TB. Worked great.

Looks good all installed.

Got the injectors in, so it will probably idle like garbage for sure now. But I won't ever run out of injector.

20190308_165956.jpg

Even made up some custom spacers because I was dumb and ordered the wrong injector spacers. Or Summit sent the wrong ones, hard to say.....

Injectedcutty didn't even laugh at me when I sent him these pics. Heck of a guy. 😆😆😆

Got some stuff done today. Pulled the seats out, gonna miss the ol' pillow tops...

20190309_141534.jpg

Gonna pull the power tracks and figure out how to integrate them to the MCSS buckets I have. Because comfort.

Pulled the carpet out, found about $4 in change, should help offset the build costs....

20190309_141540.jpg

Didn't have any really bad surprises under the carpet, a little surface rust on the drivers seat, nothing major. Considering the wheel well rust I was kinda surprised it was this nice. But I'll take it.

So I spent most of the night installing the B&M Pro-Ratchet. Needs to be wired to the reverse lights and neutral safety switch but it's in and functions perfectly. A little disappointed in the fit of the cover as I had to trim the front where the cable goes for it to fit on the shift body, kinda figure it should fit properly from the manufacturer but whatever. Should be awesome with the 4L80 manual conversion and hard setup with the HD-3 Transgo kit. 😀😀😀

Did a lot of measure, fit, remeasure and mock up on this. It will fit a console too for the future, so that's pretty cool. I thought ahead for once. 😆😆

On to pull the dash apart an wire this wh*re up. It's a roller with gears and brakes now. I'm getting the itch....
