Hello every one, I have a 1984 Oldsmobile cutlass. I own the car for over 20 years I rebuilt the 307 once, drive it for about 2 years have not driving now for over 15 years.
I think its time to get back on the road , I got the interior halfway done and a decent paint job. Now I'm thinking LS swap??? any advice would be appreciated!!

Very nice… I’m very traditional with Oldsmobile and believe that it’s sac religious to put anything but an olds motor into an olds. I know the ls swaps are fast and everything but it’s just how I feel.

Thank you very much for your answer, I truly understand where you're coming from, this is one of the reasons why its hard making the decision to do the swap!!

Not sure what you’re trying to get to. But I would suggest a 350 over that 307. Both olds small blocks so everything on your 307 would fit including engine mounts. The 307 were choked down for emissions, the number 5 heads from about 69/70 I believe flowed the best for the 350’s however not to say others can’t be worked.

I will make a decision on coming weeks, I'll let you know, one thing is sure I'm going to need some help. Thank you!!!

No problem.. you’re in the right place. A lot of guys here have so much knowledge it’ll blow your mind.

Welcome, good looking base to start a nice build. The LS's are hard to beat bang for the buck, but I also like the idea of going 350 so that it is different. I bought mine with the plan to do an LSA and a 6 speed in it. But once I drove the 350 a bit I enjoyed the sound and difference of having an old school feel, I have a GTO so I get to cheat when I want the LS with a 6 speed feel as well so made my decision easier.
