I finally got a garage so I'm tearing down my 84 cutlass t-top with plans on building it back up in the next couple months. I have everything out of the interior, Front/rear bumpers & covers are off, fenders & doors will probably be off later tonight & the motor & trans should be out within the next couple days. A buddy said I should and now I'm sitting here thinking pulling the body off of the frame. I know I will have to increase what I planned on spending on the car but it will look a whole lot better after all the work & I will be able to coat the entire frame. If I do it, what kind of problems will I run into or what type of things should I pay close attention to while doing it? What are some normal parts to get broken, if any and what all will need to be replaced? By the way, How many bolts are there holding the body onto the frame(I never paid any attention).

I did and I'm glad I did. I ended up having to sawzall some bolts off. Some of the mounting locations were rotted and needed repair on the frame and body sides. Be prepared to have the caged nuts spin. I cut the bolts, or you cn cut on the top side and find a way to jamb the caged nut. I would spray it down with WD or PB Blaster. The new body mounts and probably hardware. I used a cone fileon a die grinder to get all the rot around the frame mounts. I just went until I got to good metal then rounded it out enough to weld in a big washer. I mshould have some pics of mine to post later if you want. It was more work than I thought but now I know it's all solid. Hope this helps
