I need to replace all my tie rods, center link, and idler arm. Before I buy everything in Moog (because Hotchkis is going to take too long to get,) is there anything out there I can use as an upgrade?

Pro forged is another to look at. Whats wrong with moog though? I just redid my steering and I used moog, those are my pro touring cutlass.

Just purchased front steering kit for customers 71' Chevelle from PST (Performance Suspension Technologies) thinking they would be a better option than Moog. Received the parts - Made in Tie one on.

I have the proforged kit in my s10. the proforged stuff was not worth the extra money and in 2 years I have had to replace the outer tie rod twice cause the boots keep splitting.

I will be doing all moog stuff when I redo the front suspension in my gbody.

go on rockauto.com to order the moog stuff.

I just used Moog ends with solid sleeves from UMI. I've always been under the impression that the stock sleeves were the weak link with tie rods.

MAKE SURE YOU ANTI SEIZE THOSE SLEEVES. they will weld themselves to the steel tie rods. the weak link is not the sleeves. aluminum sleeves look cool but functionally are just a waste of money. they are no better then a good name brand steel sleeve. proforged even makes a split steel sleeve for their tierod kits. tie rods will usually bend before the sleeves do. the weak link is usually drivers not paying attention or caring about slamming into potholes, speed bumps and not properly greasing them .

I have stainless solid sleeves and they are better than any brand of steel stock type sleeves. It's easier to adjust using two wrenches than trying to hold the stock sleeve in place. Also the stock style sleeves are the weak link as they bend if the wheel is hit hard enough
