I used the hood hinge from a 1993 buick cenrty . went in pretty easy .

thats actually a good option for guys with pro front ends or fiberglass fenders. Or hood pins would work too (not with the steel hood :shock🙂 .

Haha, I figured that would get your attention.

Just happened to see it on their website and thought I'd ask if the mechanics of it actually worked well or not.
 
I have a set of those hinges from a buick FE3X if your looking for a set.

canadiantbone: did you do any modifations to the hood where you put those bolts through?

Yes , I cut a hole just back from where it attaches & slid in a piece of 1/4 flat steel that I drilled 2 holes into & tapped for the bolts . It was easy to do .....took about 2 hours to do the whole thing . boltiing the hinge on to the rac support , marking where the hood made contact , cutting the holes , akinf the plate & bolting it all together .

NOTE : the hood still latched down using the stock hood catch & latch .
