ok any help would be much appreciated. i started to change the cam in my car the other day and all was going good till i got to the crank gear. about a year ago i did just a double roller chain and since it was stock cam a buddy suggested that we use the 4 degree advance key way so now i have it stuck on there and none of my pullers will remove it. so my question is i have the heads off the car can i leave the crank gear installed like it is roll number 1 piston to top dead center and install the cam like it should be and not pay any attention the the timing marks on the crank gear.

Do yourself a favor and rent or borrow (O Reilly) a puller and install the cam to recommended specs and degree it in. Unless you bought a good billet timing set and it is still tight - I would replace
it with one. Don't forget a cam lock for the bolts + good bolts.

i dont need to rent a puller because i have tried a few different ones that i have and it wont budge the timming set is still tight i have probably driven the car all of 4 times since i put it on.

It will come off - Here is a couple of pullers I have that work great, just make sure you protect the threads in the crank.
