TIMING SETTING HOW???

WHAT IS THE PROCESS TO SET THE TIMING ON A 1982 OLDS WITH A V6 231. I KNOW THE SETTING IS 15DEGREE.

1. go to the local auto part store
2. buy a timing light and repair manual
3. open the book and follow the directions

get a timing light connect it tho the car
make sure car is running and at normal running temp.
verify check engine light is not on
disconnect distributors four wire electrical connector
(check engine light will come on)
set timing to specfication (pretty sure mine says 15 degees)
reconnect electrical connector.
