i adjusted the timing a bit on my olds 307 and somehow the carb has smoke coming out of it after i rode around the block... i think my 307 has breathed its last breath. help please!!

DID U TRY TURNIN IT OR ADJUSTIN IT BACK...BLACK SMOKE..WHITE SMOKE

white smoke from the carb. and yes i tried turning it back. i have to get a new battery and im gonna start on it early tommorrow morning.

You're useing a timing light right? Too much advance would cause spit back, and the whitesmoke, which is regurgitated fuel/air mixture. With a fresh battery, have someone crank it while you set the timing to stock with the light, should fire right up and be fine.

thanks guys i really thought i nixed my 307 and was gonna have to tell my mom that she was gonna have to help me get that olds 350 i wanted for the longest.. o well i guess that old rusty b*tch wont give up yet.....grr
