I'm getting ready to buy tires for my Cutlass. The general direction for the car is 1979 period correct appearance so RWL tires seem the most appropriate. My sizes are 195 or 205/70-14 (14X7) front and 235 or 245/60-14 (14X8) rear. Kinda looks like BFG T/As are my only option.
For the guys who run the BFGs, how do you like them?
Are there other RWL options out there that I didn't see?

I bought wrl primewells for my cutlass for cheap from
Firestone for like 35.00 each and they ride very nice for the
Price. I bought 14"s and a set of 15" yup two sets for
Less one set of bfgs. I might get aset for my 70 also.

I use to have a set of Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 raised white letter tires on my 14" Olds rally's, they were a nice tire, a lil less than BFG's but looked just as good. I think the smallest you can get is 205 tho, i had 205/70/14

Just double checked the Firestone site. Looks like neither tire is available in the sizes I need. Stupid 14" wheels :? .

Have you checked onlinetires.com? I've ordered 2 sets of tires from them, they have good prices and fast delivery

Thanks. Just checked. They must have discontinued those sizes.

Yea I just checked too, damn...its been a couple years so they may have, think I got em back in 2005

I love my white letter tires on my cars. The way I see it is there is two options Cooper Cobra GT's or BGF's I love the way the car rides on the BFG's very decent traction and they are quite. They are pretty tough and last quite a while.

Uniroyal Tiger Paw was a tire I used for a while after I couldnt find the Eagle ST in the 14" size. But Im not sure if Uniroyal even makes them anymore. BFG's have always been the prefered tire for most muscle cars from what Ive seen over the yrs....but the Eagle ST was a great option when it was available and was cheaper and looked great. Real shame that they arent available anymore.

X2 on the BFG's. had them both on my cutlass and on the monte. Very nice tire and very good wear.
