TIRES - Raised White Letter Options?

My most recent set of white letters tires are the Goodyear Eagle ST. I bought them in 1992 when I was a junior in HS. They are discontinued, but were far better than the BFG Radial T/A. They passed my *ss test. When shopping for tires I would sit on them to determine which ones better supported my weight. The Goodyears would barley give, with the BFGs I damn near sunk to the floor only weighing 190lbs.

Unfortunately my Goodyears can't balance correctly anymore after decades of sitting. I'm looking for replacements, but they are few and far between. I wonder if BFG has improved the radial T/A in the past 20 years?

By far the best RWL that i've used are the Dunlop G/T Qualifiers. I'm not partial to them just because I have them on my GP but because I've had all the others and these tires hold up and last the longest of them all. The BFGoodrich are way to soft and wear down quickly especially if you do a lot of burnouts, the Dunlop's on the other hand give a nice ride and wear longer and I do lot's of burnouts and they just don't seem to wear down. And the lettering is bigger and better looking than the BFGoodrich.

BF's are overpriced because they know they have the market cornered right now for the biggest options when it comes to RWL. I have BF's on my car, really no complaints.

The BFG's have really jumped in price over the last 2 years. When I ordered my 225/60r15s I paid roughly $95 each. I just checked Summit and they have the same tire listed at $139!!!

I just put Firestone Fire hawks on my GP. Check Walmart for the BF Goodrich. Best price I could find.

mounted 245/60/15's on the rear. BFG's. moved them to front, 275/60/15 rear, white letters out. waiting for new rings and centers. Love the look. classic. using a 7/16 spacer in rear. no rub on rear, only front in reverse on full lock. Rims are 1970z28

Hmm cant believe this is a problem.

Firestone Firehawks are some of the best tires I have ever seen. Even when they were bald they were super sticky. They may be discontinued. Here is a pic of them on some Olds Rallies in 14".

I would never pay money for new BFG tires. Dry as a puck, and not particular good in any department at all. I have had a ton of them, and only because they came on the wheels that I bought. Good thing is they pretty well never wear out.

Here are some names I am almost certain you can get raised white lettering (not sure which model) you may need to research if your size if available though.
Jetzon (they have models like Genesis and Revenger GT)
Cooper (Cobra Model)
Sumitomo

I always heard good things about the Firehawks. Unfortunately, they weren't available in the sizes I needed. So far no problems with the BFGs though.

Companies besides Cooper and BF Goodrich that make currently still make RWL that I have come across are :

Hercules HP400,
Eldorado tires (cooper manufactures for them)
Mastercraft tires,

and for a cheap alternative pep boys Futura supersport series. But they have limited sizes.
