To stroke or not to stroke

if your doing some machine work you might as well go with a roller cam. more power. less problems.

I dont have any since mine is still being built. but unless someone takes the motor apart no one will know what it is. you can tell them its a 267 if you want.

That is a roller cam I listed

that would involve me reading every word of the post. lol

does it have a small base circle?

cams are sort of cheap enough in the grand scheme of things and it should match what your looking to do. you dont want to build a motor around a bump stick. you wanna build the motor and get what your looking to get out of it,

Well just left the machine shop. got duped in a way. the block is already .030 over and doesn't look like it will clean up at .040 so I'm going to stick with my original plan. going to stud the mains on my 2 bolt and rebuild the 360. I'll look for another 4 bolt down the road for a 383

so you other block already has the machine work done?

The other block is .060 already. Fresh bore before I built the motor and had cam go flat. all she needs is a light hone and to be decked for the aluminum heads.

Why take your mind off a stroker, Why not stroke the block you got now then. You said its already bored .060. Put a stroker kit in that. You should be good. Sell your 350 pistons and youll be good to go. Thats what I'd do....but i also love cubic inch, expecially in small blocks.

its a 2bolt main. it kind of scares me to do it to a 2 bolt. the pistons i already have are flat top KB that are .060 over on the 5.7 rods. i have both 5.7 rods and 6.0 rods both are scat i beams. and to be honest i have originally budgeted myself for redoing her as a 360 and i have to money to get that straight and finish the trans. if i stroke it i can kiss my dream of the fuel injection goodbye and be stuck with the 650 demon i have. so its damned if you do damned if you dont.

i had my heads setup based on the cam i listed and for the 360 not a 383. maybe if i had planed on the 383 i should have went 210cc runners

Ya I understand about the budget part. Expesially if you want the FAST setup. Id rather have the FAST setup over a stroker. My parents came out this weekend and my dad is kind of old school. I told him about the FAST setup and hes wasnt too interested in it. I started it up, and took him for a ride. Completely changed his mind about fuel injection.

About the 2 bolt main block.....All Oldsmobile engines are 2 bolt blocks and you can get quite a bit of power out of them. Ford engines are 2 bolt main. And you can get crazy horsepower out of a stroked 302 with boost. 8) ive seen it done.

everyone I talk to says a 2bolt block can be pushed past 500hp, with alot of abuse...
... that said, can I suggest having the 2bolt drilled for splayed angle 4bolt caps?
