You mean this goof?

He was at a car cruise at Heinz Field last year. I didn't know who he was until someone told me. You could pay some astronomical amount to get a picture and an autograph from him. Or you could just snipe a picture like I did to make a mockery of the idiots waiting in line who already paid for their picture 🙂
Why is everyone hating on kindig? They build some cool *ss cars there.

It goes for most of these guys on shows

Take a good trade and turn it into a soap opera

Like I really give a f@@k about how you cant find a part or it's going to cost more than you expected.

Not like its their $$$$. The customer is paying for it!!!!!!!!!

My favorite is when the customer wants the car one color and then they paint it completely differently because they felt it should be like that.

Most of the shows start out good but then turn to sh*t. I still watch them because there’s a hell of a lot worse things on.
I can see both sides on the color thing. When a shop does a job it’s their name going on it, good or bad. So if a customer wants to paint a car a hideous color that will make a job look poorly executed I can see why they would be reluctant to do it. At the same time it’s their money. Years ago we had a guy come into the shop with a white corolla. He wanted the handles and moldings painted red. He was nuts but my boss said “ It’s his car and his money,I’ll take it.” Car looked like sh*t and he kept adding more red to it.

Hey let’s build a $150K car to sit in a garage indefinitely! I’ve got enough garage reality TV going on in my own without getting useless ‘help’ from these dopes. Get away from the TV and get out in the garage, or on the road, or to a show, or to the track.............after the lockdown of course.

A friend and I were discussing this yesterday. Yes, the product placement sucks and some of the hosts are tools, but every now and then there's a tip I didn't know about (soap on a cutoff wheel for aluminum). I get one tip, it was worth the torture.

Admit it, one tip plus Stacey's hair make it a win/win. 😛

Forgot that G,A.S. took over pimp my ride for a while for a while. But even that show was good to pick through for something useful OR an idea taken a different route loosely based from what bs they did.
I think all shows are good for limited face value only, but still good for some sort of inspiration. But even the hands on work you see is up for questioning as to if it's the best way or not.
Saw Stacy David showing fitting gas door smoothing patches into recess for example. Yea, much easier for the average amature to weld, but horrible for shadowing.
Seen Shorty on iron resurection mixing filler on cardboard. I do too ocassionally, but not the best way.
Seen several big name shops, some in damp environments, doing filler on raw metal instead of epoxy. Aceptable, but not the best way.
At the end of the day, if they inspire you to get off your *ss & do something, they served their purpose. This was Stacy David's thing for years & I respect that much of it.

Wait, there’s a way to mix filler other than on old cardboard??? I need to stop watching these educational shows!
