What up GBody fam!

I'm droppin a Olds 455 in my cutty. I got a 700r transmission also. How do I know, what kind of torque converter I need to buy. N also what would be the price range? My bad if this a stupid question but this my first ol scoo build. I'm just trying to make sure I'm not investing in the wrong parts.

I'd appreciate any wisdom out there.

What camshaft and compression? I sure hope every possible upgrade was done to the 700R4. Any reason you didn't do a 2004R build?

You'll probably need to get an adapter to bolt it up to the BOP bellhousing pattern. Far as I can recall, the 700 has a chevy only pattern. I think. Could be wrong.

Absolutely. Get the heavier Transdapt bellhousing adapter.

A 700 or 200 behind a 455 is going to cost some $$ either in the build or the rebuild (after all that torque has it's way with it). If the 455 will be pretty much stock, you may be safe.

Yup. A 200-4R definitely needs beefing up before you stick it behind a 455. Build it now to take the abuse or you’ll be pulling it later after you’ve been towed home. Even if it’s a stock 455 that 4R will scream for mercy if it’s not built for the extra torque.
