Ive been trying to get my car to the track for the first time for about a month now. Dern weather wont permit it tho :( I was wondering what some of yalls times are in the 1/4 with a 455/350 combo. I know mine won't be the same just curious to what some other people are running.

What's been done to the 455? What do you have for a rear end? tires?

Lot of variables

The 455 was bored 30 over with low to mid 9 to 1 compression. I got the heads reworked with big valves and a competition valve job. Got a comp 284xe cam and roller rockers. Topped with a Torker intake and a Holley 750. It's got the 350 trans with a 2500 stall, would love to have a different converter, and tci shift kit. She has 3.73 gears but also thinking about changing them. The cruising rpm is a bit much.

Mid 12's with a good tire? I assume a Buick 455? ;)

It's an olds motor :) I'm hoping I can knock back some decent numbers. I'm running a 26-8.5 M/T slick. That should give me some traction.

Heat those slicks really well or you 60 ft will be horrible. I got wheel spin with my ET Streets with not enough heat. I ran 2.8 60 ft with BFG regular radials, just horrible. I imagine the 455 will liquidfy the tires at will, traction will be an issue :D.

I've had a couple sets of the 26x8.5 Mickey SLICKS with a both 350 and 383ci and 3500-4000 coverters. They really didn't require a lot of heat to work well.
If you know you are going to be sitting a while waiting for the other guy just wait till he's about done with his burn out to start yours.
If you find you need to do an excessive burn out you should move to the 28x9 or wider.

I'd guess low 13's. I only ever managed a 13.9 with mine but had stock J heads with a valve job. Those were the limiting factor on my setup.

It will lite the tires up at 1/8 throttle easy. I'm hoping I'll be faster than a 13.9.

Makes me think my suspension is set up awful for any traction. I had wheel spin with 15 psi, 26x10.5-15 MT ET streets bias ply slicks. I didn't mean to buy these, wanted drag radials and have gone as low as 10 psi with them, which helps. I heated it more next round and was fine. Remember this is with a whopping 7.8 to 1 Olds 350 with a Performer cam and headers. The SBO 425 stroker replacing it will really test the suspension. Guys with better luck than me run very good times with basic combos, you should be well in the 13's.
